The Math Center

The Math Center supports our department's undergraduate degree programs in Mathematics and Statistics & Data Science (SDS). The Math Center provides advising to math or SDS majors and minors on course selection and program requirements. Additionally, we organize events for undergraduates and provide facilities for undergraduate activities, including the MathCats and RiskRunners student clubs.

Not sure whom to contact?

Math or SDS Majors/Minors, contact the Math Center.

Otherwise, ask the Academic Office, and we'll point you in the right direction.

2011 AMS Award for an Exemplary Program or Achievement

The Math Center was awarded the 2011 AMS Award for an Exemplary Program or Achievement in a Mathematics Department. There's an article about it in UA News and there is also an article in the May 2011 issue of the Notices of the AMS. Congratulations to the Department of Mathematics for the culture that nurtured the Center over the years, and also to Bill Velez for his remarkable efforts in building it up.
